April 20th, 2007

Yes, great music without the aftertaste! Copy and paste your MusicBlaster Lite anywhere image links are accepted. Here’s what we’re telling people:

(Los Angeles, CA) The brains behind the exciting artist-centered site, BlastMyMusic.com, have developed a new tool to assist artists and fans who use multiple music sites on the web. The “MusicBlaster Lite” now functions as a link from other artist-centered sites, such as Purevolume and Virb. Once the consumer clicks on the “MusicBlaster Lite” application, they are taken directly from the alternative site to their chosen artists’ store at BlastMyMusic.com. Instantly, fans and fellow rockers will be able to purchase music easier than any other similar location on the web. BlastMyMusic now allows for direct credit card payment in addition to Paypal, which was the only previously offered transaction mode.

Teaming up with other artist-centered sites such as Purevolume and Virb allows BlastMyMusic.com to continue offering the most beneficial and cost-rewarding promotion option for indie-bands and artists on the web. Always innovative, BlastMyMusic.com has set the pace again for keeping the artists’ needs to the forefront of their business model. “Our focus from the beginning has been to enable artists to sell their music to the largest audience possible, the MusicBlaster Lite brings us a few steps closer to that goal,” says Fellure.

Our Apologies for the Inconvenience

April 16th, 2007

Due to severe weather
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/tx/4717151.html
Our datacenter experienced a power outage that affected our availability for about 3 hours on Saturday night. This is the same storm that is now hitting the northeast. Due to the power outage, the datacenter was running using generator power. Apparently, once the storm had cleared and the datacenter was transferring back to grid power, the transfer back caused a hardware failure that knocked out all power, which was the very thing trying to be avoided by using generators in the first place.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. This is an extremely rare situation that was brought about due to weather/power issues.

So, to sum up, for approximately 3 hours on Saturday night, things were rough. We hope this didn’t cause any panic, and were relieved when our systems came back up to 100%. To help ensure this never happens again, we are looking into purchasing our own island (http://www.privateislandsonline.com/caribbean.htm) where we can house our servers without fear of inclement weather (If anyone has a coupon for a 2 acre island in the caribbean, we’ll go halvsies with you).

Here’s some info about his release:

MALAN DARRAS DEBUTS SECOND SET, “WHO IS MALAN D?”

(Los Angeles, CA) –

Oklahoma artist, Malan Darras, has spent the last 6-7 years toiling
away throughout the Midwest, making a name for himself as an
innovative singer, songwriter and performer. While performing all
over the region and throughout the country, the singer has seen his
fair share of success as a touring musician.

Now as the provocative front man prepares to launch his first CD in
almost two years, he’s looking at the national stage and to his
surprise, it’s looking back.

“I started recording tracks and then my life exploded.”
- M. Darras

The new album titled “Who Is Malan D?” is a departure for Darras, who
has become legendary in the cross-genre, psychedelic, jam band music
scene and showcases the artists passion for digital and electronic
music. But “Who Is Malan D?” is not a techno album. The music is edgy,
piano-based, full of character and takes you on a wild ride.

All of the songs were written and recorded in 40 days at Darras’ home
studio. Producing and performing almost every note on the album,
Darras enlisted Reed Mathis (Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey) and Danelle
Phillips (Congress Of A Crow) to give guest appearances on the final
track, “Beautiful Girl”. The CD was mastered by Kendall Stephens at
the legendary RaxTrax studios in Chicago, IL.

“I took a left turn here and was curious if anyone would follow . . .
I had no idea it would work.” — M. Darras
