BMM Record Sales, Gives Back Through Partnership With Child Poverty Organization

May 16th, 2007

(Los Angeles, CA) We live in an imperfect world where poverty is a reality. In 2003, 10.6 million children died before they reached the age of 5. Every year, 1.4 million children die due to poverty. Every day, about 30,000 people die from hunger or hunger-related causes. When a child dies in poverty, the future becomes more the unknown. Bright new worlds fade away. What might these children have become if only they were given the same chance we have had?

The organization Youth Against Poverty (www.youthagainstpoverty.org) was looking for voices
“to make a difference.” BlastMyMusic.com has thousands of voices, representing artists in 63 different countries. Sadly, there are children going hungry in every one. BlastMyMusic.com and Youth Against Poverty have joined in partnership to help children in need around the world. Through the sincere belief that by employing mankind’s most effective tool – our voices – there can be an end to child poverty.

Through their ever expanding list of artists and backed by recent site sales up a record 300%, BlastMyMusic.com is working together with Youth Against Poverty to expand awareness of child poverty and raise the money to combat it. With each purchase of an artist’s music through the Youth Against Poverty network, BlastMyMusic will donate a portion of their proceeds to help spread the news of child poverty and hunger across the world. It is the hope of all artists and organizers involved that this awareness will inspire others to lend their own voice to the cause of eradicating poverty. Alongside helping the cause of child poverty, BlastMyMusic is actively searching to partner with other qualified non-profit organizations that support the betterment of humanity.

The BlastMyMusic.com site is absolutely free to all customers and there is no charge for artists to join. To use the extraordinarily simple process, artists need only to log on, create a profile, and upload their music, placing the unique MusicBlaster player on their site. Digital downloads sell for only 99 cents a piece, with two-thirds of each sale generated going straight to the artist, immediately after a 30-day fund verification process. The customized MusicBlaster player offers consumers the opportunity to stream 30 seconds of a song and the option to purchase the individual track in the unprotected MP3 form, which means they can play on any brand digital player. Artists themselves can access their accounts in real time to see how many total tracks they’ve sold, the most popular downloads and the geographic location of those sales, helping to formulate their marketing and promotional plans.

Variable Pricing!

May 10th, 2007

We’ve had this in mind for a while now, and are excited to officially introduce it to the service. Now you can set the price for your songs and/or albums separately, and still get 65% from every sale. We’ve also changed the “Songs Sold Today” on your overview page to read “Orders Today”, so if you’ve noticed the numbers in that box are smaller than they were, it’s probably because your fans are buying your records now instead of individual songs, which means you are probably making more money, which is the reason why we’re here. Enjoy.

(Los Angeles, CA) The brains behind the exciting artist-centered site, BlastMyMusic.com, have developed a new tool to assist artists and fans who use multiple music sites on the web. The “MusicBlaster Lite” now functions as a link from other artist-centered sites, such as Purevolume and Virb. Once the consumer clicks on the “MusicBlaster Lite” application, they are taken directly from the alternative site to their chosen artists’ store at BlastMyMusic.com. Instantly, fans and fellow rockers will be able to purchase music easier than any other similar location on the web. BlastMyMusic now allows for direct credit card payment in addition to Paypal, which was the only previously offered transaction mode.

Teaming up with other artist-centered sites such as Purevolume and Virb allows BlastMyMusic.com to continue offering the most beneficial and cost-rewarding promotion option for indie-bands and artists on the web. Always innovative, BlastMyMusic.com has set the pace again for keeping the artists’ needs to the forefront of their business model. “Our focus from the beginning has been to enable artists to sell their music to the largest audience possible, the MusicBlaster Lite brings us a few steps closer to that goal,” says Fellure.

Our Apologies for the Inconvenience

April 16th, 2007

Due to severe weather
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/tx/4717151.html
Our datacenter experienced a power outage that affected our availability for about 3 hours on Saturday night. This is the same storm that is now hitting the northeast. Due to the power outage, the datacenter was running using generator power. Apparently, once the storm had cleared and the datacenter was transferring back to grid power, the transfer back caused a hardware failure that knocked out all power, which was the very thing trying to be avoided by using generators in the first place.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. This is an extremely rare situation that was brought about due to weather/power issues.

So, to sum up, for approximately 3 hours on Saturday night, things were rough. We hope this didn’t cause any panic, and were relieved when our systems came back up to 100%. To help ensure this never happens again, we are looking into purchasing our own island (http://www.privateislandsonline.com/caribbean.htm) where we can house our servers without fear of inclement weather (If anyone has a coupon for a 2 acre island in the caribbean, we’ll go halvsies with you).

Malan Darras Exclusive BlastMyMusic Release

April 2nd, 2007

Check out his music at:

http://www.blastmymusic.com/maland

Here’s some info about his release:

MALAN DARRAS DEBUTS SECOND SET, “WHO IS MALAN D?”

(Los Angeles, CA) –

Oklahoma artist, Malan Darras, has spent the last 6-7 years toiling
away throughout the Midwest, making a name for himself as an
innovative singer, songwriter and performer. While performing all
over the region and throughout the country, the singer has seen his
fair share of success as a touring musician.

Now as the provocative front man prepares to launch his first CD in
almost two years, he’s looking at the national stage and to his
surprise, it’s looking back.

“I started recording tracks and then my life exploded.”
- M. Darras

The new album titled “Who Is Malan D?” is a departure for Darras, who
has become legendary in the cross-genre, psychedelic, jam band music
scene and showcases the artists passion for digital and electronic
music. But “Who Is Malan D?” is not a techno album. The music is edgy,
piano-based, full of character and takes you on a wild ride.

All of the songs were written and recorded in 40 days at Darras’ home
studio. Producing and performing almost every note on the album,
Darras enlisted Reed Mathis (Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey) and Danelle
Phillips (Congress Of A Crow) to give guest appearances on the final
track, “Beautiful Girl”. The CD was mastered by Kendall Stephens at
the legendary RaxTrax studios in Chicago, IL.

“I took a left turn here and was curious if anyone would follow . . .
I had no idea it would work.” — M. Darras

SARAH KELLY — TWO-TIME GRAMMY NOMINEE SET TO PLAY SXSW

March 13th, 2007

MAD Ink, PR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 12, 2007

SARAH KELLY FEATURED ARTIST ON BLASTMYMUSIC.COM

TWO-TIME GRAMMY NOMINEE SET TO PLAY SXSW

(Los Angeles, CA) Two-time Grammy nominee and singing sensation, Sarah Kelly, is the featured artist for the month of March on the innovative, new music site Blastmymusic.com. Sarah’s 2004 Grammy-nominated Gotee debut, Take Me Away , helped her to build a formidable fan base for an indie artist. Now, she will expand her reach through the featured position on Blastmymusic.com, the ultimate tool of empowerment for recording artists. Launched in October 2006 by 25-year-old founder, Chris Fellure, artists need only to log on, create a profile, and upload their music for sale directly to the public with two-thirds of each sale going right back to the artist. Sarah Kelly currently has three songs on Blastmymusic.com’s Top Ten downloads list.

An artistic decree may be the best way to describe Sarah Kelly’s sophomore album, the Grammy nominated Where the Past Meets Today. Produced by uber-hard rock legend Mike Clink, who has worked for such great bands as Guns `N Roses, the album showcases an eclectic variety of featured musicians including Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), Nick Lashley (Alanis Morissette) and GNR icon, Slash. The mild-mannered daughter of a Pastor from Rockford, IL, Sarah may speak in sweet and sensitive tones, but she unflinchingly rips into song with one of the most distinctive and visceral voices this side of Janis Joplin. “I approach my music the same way I live my life. I take whatever’s in front of me and try to bring out the beauty that’s inside of it. Much of the time, the beauty is found inside the flaw.”

Catch Sarah Kelly this week at the SXSW music festival in Austin, TX where she will perform on the Heidi’s Night of Beauty bill at Moonshine.
